2008-March 8: East side and hula kids

Today we just hung around the East side.  First---off to find breakfast.  Ended up at Coconut marketplace.  Interesting little mall.  And interesting stuff in this little mall---like this koa wood chair
 and this one.
We like going to Eggberts for breakfast.  It's sort of like a Denny's, but decorated with chickens.
After a great breakfast, we were off to wander around the mall.

We knew there was a hula show in the afternoon, so we hung around for that.  Along with the little kids doing hula, there are a couple great singers.
They preform the music live for the little dancers.
So neat to see the little ones embracing their heritage.
 they are so cute.
 and talented

 really neat outfits, too.
By the time it was over, it was time to eat again!  So we decided to try the little pizza place there in the mall.  It's a little take out counter in the courtyard, but their pizza was really quite good!
It was a rather low key day today, but sometimes that's nice---even when you're on vacation.  Sort of like being a resident instead of a tourist.  Back to being a tourist tomorrow.
