2007 March 6---north, anini, hanalei:

Today we decided to head north again.
But first----our almost daily check of the Lydgate cleanup.  Still a lot to do.
We also took a ride up to the arboretum on the East side.
Then continued North, stopping at the guava factory first.   Interesting little factory.
Then some time at Anini.  Got to see a couple threadfin butterflyfish, saddle wrasses and a young parrotfish.
Plus this grown female yellow tail coris.
 and teardrop butterflyfish
After a couple hours at Anini, we continued north.  Stopped for a few pictures, like here at the overlook of Lumahai.
The surf was pretty rough on the north side.
We did just happen to be going by the Hanalei farmers' market just as it was getting ready to open, so we stopped and joined the crowd.  Got a few apple bananas
It was too rough to snorkel, but we hung around the north shore for sunset.
this time at Hanalei.  I've not yet been here for a really great sunset.
 today was no exception.

Soon we were on our way back to the East side.  Got a little snorkeling in, but loved seeing the above water sights, too.
