The name Opaeka’a means rolling shrimp.
Our rental car this year.
Poli'ahu Heiau is one of Kaua'i's most legendary structures located just across the road from Opaeka Falls.
It is an ancient heiau or place of worship.
It is actually one of seven stretching along the Wailua River from the ocean to the top of Wai'ale'ale a few miles inland where the river is born.
This is a rather large heiau, so it’s believed to be a dedication to the war god Ku. Human sacrifices were made here as well as fish and other animal offerings.
Ken sporting a flower behind his left ear. Supposedly that means he's taken.
One of the really cool trees here---the Rainbow Eucalyptus tree. It's bark looks like it's painted with strokes of greens, oranges, and browns.
A lucky horse.
Love the pedestrian signs around Kauai.
Dad giving poi a try. I forget where we were.
Didn't really do much today, but it was a pretty great day!
