3-6-2003  resort scuba dive at Koloa Landing:

I've always wanted to try scuba diving.  So when Dad said he was interested, too, we did the resort dive.  Basically that means we go from shore and not very far.  Plus only to about 35'.  We also did the pool lessons beforehand.
Dad checking out our dive site
our dive master giving us a little pre-dive talk.
 and we're off.
The dive master kept a close eye, and hand, on dad at all times.
 one of our underwater friends.
 high 5 time
dive master showing us a large shell. I'm sure it was put there for the dive, but it was still pretty neat to see.
I've not seen a shell like that before.
Dad and the dive master going out a little farther.
We were only out for about 40 minutes, but it was interesting.  Would like to do a real dive someday, but since Ken won't do it, I probably wont.
 Dad making his way out
dive master and me coming out.  It seems like it would be a great place to snorkel, too, but I've read a lot about this being an area where stream water comes into the ocean and bacteria levels are often high.  So we never made it back.
Hung around the South side to catch sunset.
Made our way to Lawai Beach by the Beach House restaurant.
It's a great place to catch sunset this time of year.
not a lot of color tonight, but still enjoyable.
