2019 Kauai Beach Villas

Feb. --- My sister and I spent 6 nights here throughout our 2 week stay on Kauai.  Our main condo was the Shearwater in Princeville, but we wanted to be closer to the South and West side for all day touring a couple of days.  Plus we wanted to go to the Monday night concerts at the adjoining Hotel (Kauai Beach Resort) the 2 Mondays we were on island, so I double booked us for 5 nights (over 3 separate stays) and we needed the first night since our Shearwater resort stay didn't start until the next day.  With my Wyndham VIP ownership, it was pretty economical (50% off plus free upgrades---so I used 50% of the points for a 1 bedroom and we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom ocean view for all 6 nights).  In fact, we weren't suppose to be in an ocean view a couple times, but they put us in the same unit every time---H08, ground level but still with great views.  I'm not going to complain about that!
Since Ken and I have stayed in KBV about 18 times, I didn't take a lot of pictures of the units, but they are managed by Grand Pacific Resorts now instead of Wyndham, so there were a few changes.  Like the soaps and shampoos and such are now Hawaiian Tropic brand--a big improvement over Wyndham!

and they even do a folded towels in the bedrooms now.

basic layout and furnishing in the unit didn't change
love the new artwork Wyndham added to the units when they renovated the rooms a few years ago.

not a bad view, either!
being on the East coast, the beach at KBV is a great place to catch sunrise.
it has a great walkable beach.  Swimming is suppose to be dangerous here due to currents, so we've never gone in the water here.
Not a bad place for sunsets, too.
 The views are expansive.
It's also a good place to play around with camera settings, like "dragging the shutter"
Love their tree tunnel into the resort, too.
The KBV pool was closed this time---renovations being done to it, but they have, again, worked out an agreement with the Kauai Beach Resort hotel next door to let people staying in the Villas use the hotel pools.  We didn't end up using them, but it was nice to have the option.  It was also very convenient being able to walk over to the hotel on Monday nights to go to the E. Kanikapila Kakoa concerts.  They are well attended and parking gets bad at the hotel those nights.

The new management was very friendly, but so was the old management.  I would stay here again.  Fortunately we still can with our Wyndham ownership.
